London artist makes living monument in Trafalgar Square!

Sculptor Antony Gormley is inviting UK residents and visitors to spend one hour atop Trafalgar Square’s Fourth Plinth. This empty public space, originally intended for statues of kings and generals, will house one member of the public each hour for 100 days this summer, nonstop. The artist intends to elevate everyday citizens and their lives to the status of monumental art, encouraging reflection on the individual in contemporary society.
2400 lucky volunteers are invited to do what they please atop the Fourth Plinth- and some have chosen some interesting activities…
